Canoe plans are from Laughing Loon CC&K in Greenfield, MA.

 


“Wee Two” canoe with its maker.
The  canoe is 12’ 6” long,  30” wide, and 10" deep at the center.
It weighs 30 – 32 Lbs.  

 

 

On the dock, ready to go.
This was Rich's first canoe.  Construction took around 140 hours.

 

   The following woods are used in the canoe:  main hull and deck are 3/16” X ¾” Northern White Cedar from Maine; the back rests, out wale Rub Edge and the deck coaming are white oak.  The in wale, the out wale and the scupper spacer blocks are white spruce.

The inside and outside of the canoe is covered with fiber glass cloth and finished with 4 coats of epoxy
[Epoxy Head purchased with SLWG’s discount] and 3 coats of Z-Spar Marine Varnish.
