This is a simple cutout with a hole for hanging as a Mobile or decoration.

Tools: Band Saw or Scroll saw, Sanders – rotary and belt – and Drill Press.

Sand paper or emery boards.

Make pattern from print of Bat by gluing to a piece of cardboard.

Tape 5 to 8 layers of 1/8" plywood or tempered Masonite together and attach pattern on top. Drill 1/16" holes for hanging and for eyes and cut pattern and wood to shape using saw. Note: cutting five to eight pieces at a time makes for smoother edges and speeds up production.

On next set of parts draw around pattern on wood surface and mark hole centers.

Drill 1/16" holes.

Saw Shape.

Sand front and back surfaces with a belt sander to smooth and sand edges to remove roughness.
